Minecraft! Heres our review for the hit indie game that has almost become a religion over the internet. This is the game which deserves to be more than an indie, as they had there own spot at E3. This game was created my Markus Notch Persson in Sweden with a few friends. The game has sold millions of copys, and if you cant afford it, then you can play it's classic version!
What is the FULL game: The full game contains a mode where you have the chance to survive, find materials, and live life. There is a point scoring system which no-one really uses, and can have a million and one mods, making the .jar file 4 times it's starting size. The full version is almost like life, but in blocks! Because you have to build a house, but you can also build other stuff that's so hard to find things with programs like INVEdit and MCEdit, which are almost mods, but widely known by Minecraft Players. There's even Multiplayer!
What is the FREE game: This is the creative mode of the real game. Like the real game there's never the same maps, because it's always randomly generated! On this you have access to all blocks and plants, nothing else. This was Minecraft before Survival Test. This mode also lets you place unlimited and break an unlimited amount of blocks too! And also has a Multiplayer feature to let you make buildings with your friends! Or make some!
For only 13 Euros, it is important that you buy this game, because the owner of this game shows pure effort in making this game, with an upcoming (maybe out now if your reading this in 2012) 1.8 update in Beta, which will contain more things to make the game really complete!
Thanks for reading, and dont forget, buy the game!

The Lava Lamp: Hittin' on Terraria
Terraria:
Welcome to the world of Terraria! Today, The Lava Lamp is reviewing (you guessed it!), Terraria! OK. So you create a 2D sprite, and of course you can dig a hole, but lets stay on topic. Straight away Terraria blows your mind, if you haven't played Minecraft. Terraria's objective is build a small house, get NPC's like nurses and arms dealers to live in your apartment/house/town whatever. Another thing you have to do is survive against the evil creatures that lurk EVERYWHERE. Hmm, no weapons, lets get some wood. Left: Slime. Right: Slime. So you have to learn to fight with a Pickaxe and Axe pretty quickly.
Your first night is the hardest, because theres about 3 different shelters to choose from. Underground, land and air. Underground or land is the best type of shelter to build first, because getting high in the sky needs materials and blocks, and stairways. You will find that your inventory will be full, but 5 mins later it's half empty. That is something you will learn, your recourses deplete pretty quick!
Something which has really impressed me, is that the creator has put his effort into his game. With updates almost every Friday, and also the fact that he has published the game on Steam, well done boy, (or girl) well done. You impress me with your 2D sprite construction crafting mining exploring thingymajig Terraria. Thank you for making me spend $6.00 for something I will play for a good few months!
As other games like this, Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress, Dwarfs, FortressCraft e.t.c. It's perfect for let's plays! If you dont know already a let's play is a youtube series where someone does 1-500 episodes of a game until they finish or give up with it. Terraria though, has it's hits. You wont find something boring, you will always find new things like underground jungles and giant eyeballs the stalk you in your sleep, yes, giant eyeballs.
Heres something I recommend, you get of your lazy butt there, on the bus, on the computer, on the couch, whatever. And earn yourself 6 dollars to buy this game, then go back on that chair/plastic/couch thing you live on. Trust me, you wont regret losing that money! Also, the creator deserves a reward for making such a good game, so if you dont want it, buy it anyway! Just so the developer knows he's doing a good job.
Warning for you guys: This game is super addictive, I recommend at least 3 biscuit breaks a second, because you will most likely gob down 4 without realizing you have come off the bloody game! But if you find being addicted to certain things, especially games, then you are in good luck. Because this game my friend, is your new friend.
